The Swashbuckler
  • d10 hit dice
  • Class Skills: Balance, Bluff, Climb, Craft, Diplomacy, Escape Artist, Gather Information, Jump, Knowledge (all skills taken individually), Perform, Profession, Sense Motive, Swim, Tumble, Use Rope.
  • Skill Points: (4 + Int modifier) x 4 at first level, an additional 4 at each additional level. In addition, you will get 6 "story" skill points at creation to represent past experience that you have recieved, based on your backstory. You must tell me where these points are allocated. Alternatively, you can spend 3 of these story points to gain any feat in the PHB that gives you a "+2 bonus to <x skill> and <y skill>."

  • Weapon and Armor Proficiency: All simple, martial weapons, light armor.
  • Weapon Finesse Feat at first level
  • Grace: +1 competence bonus to reflex saves
  • Insightful Strike: Apply your intelligence bonus as a bonus on damage rolls in addition to strength, while using light weapons or other finessable weapons. Does not apply to creatures immune to sneak attacks or critical hits. Does not apply when wearing medium armor or medium encumberance.
  • Dodge Bonus: Designate an opponent, recieve a +1 dodge bonus to AC against that opponent. Increases to +2 at level 10. This ability stacks with the Dodge feat. (A variant ability in the PHB II, grants a +2 bonus to AC whenever you attack with 2 light weapons on your turn; it lasts until the beginning of your next turn; it increases to +3 at level 10.)
  • Acrobatic Charge: You can charge over rough/uneven terrain that you normally cannot charge over.
  • Improved Flanking: Gain a +4 flanking bonus instead of a +2.
  • The Swashbuckler's Goad, (at 1st level): This ability is usuable a number of times per day equal to 1/2 your class level + Cha modifier. You must be able to communicate with your opponent to use the challenge. Your challenge can produce one of the following effects:
    • Fighting Challenge - As a swift action, you can target a single opponent with an intelligence of 5 or greater. You gain a +1 morale bonus on Will saves, and a +1 morale bonus to attack and damage rolls. This lasts for 5+Cha bonus rounds. If you can use Swashbuckler's Goad more than once a day, you can issue a new challenge only when your first opponent is defeated or flees the area. At 7th level, the bonus increases to +2.
    • Test of Mettle - As a swift action, you force all opponents within the area to make Will saves (DC 10 + Class Level + Cha modifier). Those that fail are forced to attack you over any other target in the area. This lasts for 5+Cha modifier rounds. A given creature can only be targeted by this challenge once per day. You gain the ability to use this challenge at 4th level.
    • Call to Battle - As a swift action, you grant an ally a second save vs. a fear effect. The target gains your Cha modifier to their Will save. You gain the ability to use this challenge at 8th level.
